OK, they named the puzzle correctly. It is evil :)
My time was ~63 minutes and the supposed "evil average" is ~12 minutes. I must be missing some very simple strategy. Anyway, if you want to solve this same puzzle and compare time, URL is here. Puzzle and solution is below, don't peek :)
